A bit about the role.

As a Managing Director, Account Management, you will play a pivotal role in leading our client accounts and driving the success of our projects. This senior-level position requires a seasoned professional with 15-20 years of experience in agency account management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and maintaining deep relationships with high-profile stakeholders, managing a dedicated team, and driving the growth and success of client accounts.

What you’ll do.

You will lead five to seven key client relationships, ensuring excellence at every touchpoint in our relationships and driving substantial growth for our clients’ businesses.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with senior stakeholders, gaining a deep understanding of their business goals, challenges, and industries.
  • Manage five to seven client relationships concurrently, with a total active project value ranging from $2 million to $3 million.
  • Serve as the primary client advisor, anticipating needs and proactively offering strategic insights that align with their objectives.

Project Oversight:

  • Oversee all work in development for assigned clients, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Maintain tight control over project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and resolve project challenges, leaving clients fully satisfied with outcomes.

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic marketing plans that align with clients’ business goals.
  • Utilize data, analytics, and insights to make informed recommendations and optimize client strategies continuously.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of professionals, providing clear guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of client projects.
  • Born from deep experience in knowing what it takes to get great work done, identify and allocate the necessary teams and resources for each project, balancing workloads, and prioritizing high-impact initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing, creativity, and accountability across the team.

Talent Management:

  • Coach, mentor, and upskill existing team members, creating development plans that align with individual strengths and company needs.
  • Actively participate in recruiting efforts to attract and retain top-tier talent, ensuring the team’s growth aligns with evolving client and agency demands.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, providing constructive feedback, and encouraging professional development.

Business Development:

  • Actively participate in pitching and winning new business, showcasing a deep understanding of our services and an ability to align them with prospective client needs.
  • Identify potential upsell opportunities within existing accounts, pitching new ideas and solutions that expand our work and impact.
  • Develop compelling presentations and lead key client meetings to articulate our unique value and service offerings effectively.

Industry Leadership & Advocacy:

  • Represent the agency as a thought leader in our industry, building relationships across agencies and partner networks, and attending relevant industry events.
  • Stay on top of industry trends, competitive landscape, and digital marketing advancements, providing clients with a leading-edge point of view.
  • Contribute to agency-wide initiatives by sharing insights and best practices, driving thought leadership content, and occasionally speaking at events or conferences.

Operational & Financial Management:

  • Manage project budgets, forecast revenue for assigned accounts, and ensure profitability targets are met.
  • Conduct regular financial reviews and reporting, keeping the leadership team informed of account status and financial health.
  • Drive operational efficiencies within the account management team, improving processes to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.

Requirements.
